Iran’s green movement is ten years old now. Over the past ten years, the public debate has been dominated by two official notions since 2009. On the one hand, the hardliners of the Islamic Republic believe the Green Movement was a devilry riot which was favorable to western imperialists. On the other side, the moderate wings of the Islamic Republic seek to delimit the Green Movement into the slogan of “where is my vote?” From their point of view, the Green Movement was a reformist movement advocating for the development policies of the moderation wing of the regime and adherence to the Islamic Republic. However, after ten years it is necessary to question these narratives and go beyond the two official approaches: What was the social base of this movement? What was the class basis of the movement? At that time, what were the historically favorable prospects for the Islamic Republic? And finally, what qualities did Mir Hossein Mousavi, as leader of the green movement provide that forced the Islamic Republic to organize a bloody coup?
Farhad Moradi is an essayist who lives in Berkeley. His essays cover a variety of genre, including cinema and literature. Nevertheless, all his writings have a political and social approach. بازخوانی کودتای ۱۳۸۸
جنبش سبز ایران، در خرداد ماه ۱۳۹۸، ده ساله شد. در طی ده سال گذشته اما سایه دو قرائت رسمی بر سر این جنبش سنگینی می کند. از یک سو هسته سخت جمهوری اسلامی و مدافعان ولایت سید علی خامنه ای جنبش سبز را فتنه ای می دانند که سرنخ هایش در دست قدرت های غربی بود. از سوی دیگر اصلاح طلب ها، اعتدالیون و گروه های محافظه کار حامی آنها در پی آنند تا جنبش ۸۸ را در شعار «رأی من کجاست» محصور کنند. از منظر ایشان جنبش سبز حرکتی اصلاحطلبانه، مدافع سیاست های توسعه گرای مد نظر جناح اصلاحی – اعتدالی رژیم و پایبند به جمهوری اسلامی بود. با این حال، و پس از گذشت ده سال، می بایست پای پرسش هایی را به میان کشید تا شاید زمینه عبور از این دو قرائتِ رسمی فراهم آید: جنبش سبز ایران بر بستر کدام شرایط اجتماعی متولد شد؟ پایگاه طبقاتی این جنبش چه بود؟ چشم انداز مطلوب جمهوری اسلامی در آن مقطع تاریخی چه بود؟ و دست آخر میرحسین موسوی، در مقام رهبر اصلی این جنبش، چه ویژگی هایی داشت که جمهوری اسلامی را وادار به سازماندهی کودتایی خونین کرد؟
